Ebbe Hamerik (1898-1951)

Ebbe Hamerik was a conductor and composer. From 1922 to 27 he was conductor at The Music Society. He was also guest conductor in several cities. Being an autodidact Hamerik created for himself a highly individual tonal language in which the contrapuntal forms are of great importance. His works include 5 operas, ballet, orchestral works (incl. 5 cantus firmi), chamber music, piano works, choral and vocal compositions.
