Ture Larsen (b. 1958)

Ture Larsen is a composer, musician and conductor. From 1997 he studied composition with Karsten Fundahl and Anders Nordentoft as well as orchestration with Bo Holten. In addition to that he is educated as a trombonist from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 1983. He has composed many works and arrangements for theatre, film, jazz ensembles, 'new music' ensembles and symphony orchestras. He has also worked with soundart, electronics and video installations from 2000 to 2012.

Larsen has been the director and conductor for the Copenhagen Art Ensemble from 1995. He founded and directed the third Way Chamber Players from 1999 to 2001. He was the head of RMC major orchestra from 2001 and from 2002 conductor for The Ghettoblaster Ensemble. He has received numerous awards, including Government Arts grants 1993-95, 1998-2012 and the Arts Foundation's 3-year grant from the classical music committee in 2002.
