The idea of this concert is a questioning of the performance form "concert". Ensemble Ascolta has therefore asked the composers to create two dramaturgically designed concert halves rather than two self-contained pieces. Christian Winther Christensen draws upon the idea of the "children's piece" and refers in spirit to Robert Schumann's Kinderszenen and Claude Debussy's Children's Corner. On the other hand, the composer and lyricist Rozalie Hirs refers to her own work on a textual basis: to poems from her cycle Magie der möglichen Gegenwart (Magic of possible presence).
