The concept of Nordic Noir is not limited to crime fiction on TV - it is also the title of a concert in New York featuring Danish composers. American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) performs music by Danish artists whose work seems to be fostered by the mood of the north -including Ejnar Kanding. The description of the concert reads: Inspired by the surroundings and the people that dwell within them, the Danish composers Ejnar Kanding and Carsten Bo Eriksen are focusing their evocative powers on the wider elements of their home region, touchingly capturing its unique spirit and affecting atmosphere in their compositions.

On the programme for the concert is the first performance of Ejnar Kanding's 'Textures & Mosaics, vol. 2' in its entirety. Textures & Mosaics is designed as a series of independent pieces of varying formation, which performed together will constitute a complete entity.
