Aksel Agerby was a Danish organist, composer and music administrator. Agerby was blind and got his degree as a composer from the Royal Blind Institute and as an organist from Copenhagen Organist School. From 1921 he was the organist of the Copenhagen Funeral Service and, from 1930 until his death, at Brønshøj Church. Agerby was mostly known for his work as chairman for DUT (Det Unge Tonekunstnerselskab), which was merged with Ny Musik under his leadership. He also cooperated with the Danish Concert Society in creating a concert corporation that later became the start of the Unge Tonekunstneres Orkester, later becoming an important institution for young musicians.
