Jørgen Messerschmidt

Jørgen Messerschmidt studied musicology at the University of Copenhagen from 1982 to 1986. He was accepted into the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 1996, where he graduated in 2001 with Ib Nørholm, Niels Rosing-Schow and Hans Abrahamsen as teachers. Messerschmidt has a bachground in jazz music, but has focused on new music the past couple of years with works composed for Ars Nova, South of Jutland's Symphony Orchestra, Esbjerg Ensemble and Ensemble Nordlys.
