Launy Grøndahl

(1886-1960)

Launy Grøndahl was a conductor and composer. He was pupil of Axel Gade and Ludolf Nielsen. From 1925 to 56 he was permanent conductor of the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. His compositions include stage music, orchestral music, concertos, chamber music, piano works, songs. He also collected and arranged a considerable amount of Danish traditional fiddler's tunes for folk dances.
