Louis Glass was a pianist, cellist, conductor and composer. He was pupil of Niels W. Gade. For many years he was the leader of the Glass Conservatorium (founded by his father C. H. Glass), and from 1915 to 18 the conductor of The Music Society. Glass was an outstanding pianist and piano-teacher. As composer mainly he was influenced by Gade, Bruckner, and Cesar Franck. His works include ballet, orchestral works (including six symphonies), concertos, chamber music, piano works, and songs.
