Niels Otto Raasted

(1888-1966)

Niels Otto Raasted was an organist and composer. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music, and later with Karl Straube and Max Reger. In 1924 he became the organist at the Cathedral of Copenhagen. He was founder of the Copenhagen Bach Society and its chairman from 1925 to 46. He was also a member of Musikaliska Akademien in Stockholm. His works include orchestral and chamber music, organ and piano works, choral works, and songs.
