Frostbitten is a piece that investigates the fine line between consciousness and an altered state of mind. When humans are exposed to extremely cold temperatures, gradual confusion occurs as the body cools down and slips into hypothermia. When confusion is complete, I believe that one can enter an altered state of mind, like the state of clarity people experience just before dying. In frostbitten a growing confusion challenges the conscious mind as it battles to avoid its alteration. The barrier between the two worlds is tangible at first. However, as the altered state reoccurs, one dares to linger a bit longer each time, as the barrier blurs and the worlds merge to become one.
