SNYK represents the Danish section of ISCM and have chosen six works by Danish composers which will be passed on to the ISCM jury.
Among them are five composers represented by Edition·S: Nicolai Worsaae, Ylva Lund Bergner, Martin Stauning, Lasse Schwanenflügel Piasecki and Rune Glerup. The sixth nominated composer is Löic Destremeau.
The festival has been hosted by cities all over the world since 1923, and in 2017 it will take place in Vancouver 2-8 November.
The Canadian hosts have listed 14 different categories for the nominated works, embracing the diverse tendencies on the contemporary music scene with categories like ‘composer-performer’ and ‘creative music ensemble’. The ISCM-jury will choose at least one of the nominated Danish works for the concert programme of the festival.
The nominated works are:
Nicolai Worsaae: “Replication #1”
Ylva Lund Bergner: “Sigh, R., Tilia”
Martin Stauning: “Burlesque”
Lasse Schwanenflügel Piasecki: “Hiding for Rosetta”
Rune Glerup: “Quartettsatz“
