Flashback Friday April 12

This week has been full of exciting meetings with partners, prospective partners, composers and good people. We’re in the midst of planning our future and it looks bright and prosperous.

Monday we met with our composer Morten Olsen and our colleagues at Dacapo Records, who have an album coming out soon with a brand new project called Be my quiet friend. Stay tuned for more info on this one – there are some interesting things coming up.

Yesterday we visited the Culture Yard (Kulturværftet) in Helsingør and saw their new (giant) exhibition room where our artist duo Klejs & Rønsholdt is going to exhibit an installation version of the work Racer during the CLICK! Festival in May.

By the way, the good people at the Culture Yard made a short video of Klejs & Rønsholdt’s workshop days with the media artist Mark Coniglio, where you get a “sneak peak” of the work-in-progress Home. Sounds interesting? Watch it here!

We also had a great meeting with composer Ejnar Kanding who is soon going on tour with his work Stillstehen. He too has many exciting things coming up. You can experience his works in such different places as Copenhagen, New York and at the Nordlichter Festival in Berlin.

Speaking of Nordlichter, our Icelandic-German composer Steingrimur Rohloff also has a work performed at the very same festival. Esbjerg Ensemble is performing a new version of the work Schtagededong (what an interesting name!). This work is our #ScoreOfTheWeek on Twitter next week. Steinigrimur is touring the world at the moment telling about his music.

Today we got the good news that our very own Klaus Ib Jørgensen’s work Howl – the opera is going to be performed for the first time in May at the Dalhousie Art Gallery in Halifax, Canada. The opera was actually composed in 2009, but never had its premiere. So now it will! For more info, please read related post here. And check out our Twitter profile where we’ll have a special feature focusing on this work next week.

Have a nice weekend!
