Flashback Friday April 19

This week has been in the name of festivals! We have been preparing all the festivals coming up this May! And we’re very excited!

The new and improved KLANG Festival (the former Athelas Festival) released its programme and Edition·S – music¬sound¬art is very pleased to announce that we’re well represented by some of our young and talented composers.

During the 8-day long festival we have no less than 5 premieres! The DIY (do-it-yourself) composer Lars Kynde has 3 premieres, which are all a part of the Wandelende Tak project composed for his self-built “composition machine” of the same name. In addition to that his work Elephant Heart is also performed.

The young composer Nicolai Worsaae also has a premiere – and his new work will be performed by the very prestigious ensemble recherche, who will also perform Simon Steen-Andersen’s Study For String Instrument #1. And last but not least, Jexper Holmen and his “Lullabies Ensemble” will perform a brand new work for music boxes and accordion.

We very much look forward to this festival!

We have also been preparing our trip to Aarhus for SPOR Festival and we look forward to an interesting 4 days of music and sound art. As mentioned earlier we have three composers on the programme: Simon Steen-Andersen, Niels Rønsholdt and Christian Winther Christensen. So please join us in Aarhus – if you’re around! We’ll be there with bells on.

We have also been invited to the relatively new festival CLICK!’s opening reception, which we’re very honoured to be. CLICK! Festival focuses on new media art and has the catchy tagline “The eye, the ear, the hand and the heart” and during the 4 days of music and art it is possible to experience the artist duo Klejs & Rønsholdt’s work Racer in an installation version. It is fun to be a part of such an innovative festival and it is definitely worth a visit to Elsinore and The Culture Yard!

Next week we have a lot of birthdays, so please keep an eye on our Twitter profile for lots of #HappyBirthdays and #funfacts!

See you next week!
