This week and the one before that we have had a little Easter focus on C.E.F. Weyse. His biography has been updated, his works have been #ScoreOfTheWeek on our Twitter profile and a short article has been written. Weyse was the man who refined the Danish lieder genre and Edition·S have published two volumes of his songs with piano. His music matches the sunny spring weather and the Easter holidays.
On Monday we sent out the April edition of our newsletter and this month’s E·xclusive was an overview of some of the kind words journalists, reviewers etc. have said about our talented composers and us recently. Thanks to everyone!
The newsletter also included a list over our newest published works. Check out Peter Heise’s tragic opera Drot og Marsk, which is published for the first time ever as a collaboration between Edition·S and the Danish Centre for Music Publication.
This week we had more happy news! Simon Steen-Andersen and the Norwegian ensemble asimisimasa won the Norwegian Grammy Spellemann and both Simon and our young composer Rune Glerup have been announced as nominees for the new Danish music prize – the Carl Prize. Congratulations all around!
We also found an interesting article in the German magazine Ensemble – Magazin für Kammermusik about our composer Friedrich Kuhlau. It’s worth a read – if you understand German…
That’s all for now! See you next week.
