Flashback Friday June 14

Last Friday we went to a great, big partner meeting concerning the Carl Nielsen celebrations in 2015. Odense Symphony Orchestra hosted the event, where a lot of Nielsen enthusiasts, music people and other good folks were gathered to inspire each other. The meeting included Nielsen music performed by such different performers as the classical pianist Anne Øland, the folk trio Zenobia and a children’s choir. We are sure that 2015 is going to be a fun year and we look forward to contributing to the celebrations. Meanwhile, check out our 9 (!) works by Carl Nielsen here.

This week our Twitter profile has been very busy! Our Score of the Week was Regin Petersen’s Intuitive Sketches, which is performed tomorrow at the Open Form festival organised by composer Carl Bergstrøm-Nielsen and the Danish Composers Society. Leading up to this festival we have posted many #funfacts about the composer, the work and the festival. You see for yourself here. The festival is based on the Text & Graphix style that Edition·S is honoured to be the publisher of.

This week we have also spent a lot of time on planning next week’s big event – the Morten Olsen CD release and mini concert. Edition·S and Dacapo Records invite you to join us in the celebration of the work Be My Quiet Friend. It has been 10 years underway and is Morten’s return to his youth as a fusion musician, but is also the culmination of his work as a composer. The new sound is jazzy, smooth and delicious! Please join us for the party on Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Huset KBH. For more info see the Facebook event.

We have also started our search for the perfect communications intern; so if you know anyone who would like to join the Edition·S team working with communication of art music, please send him or her our way. We have a fun (unpaid) job in an exciting business for the right candidate! See the job description here.
