Flashback Friday March 1

It is finally SPRING! The sun is shining and everything looks a bit brighter. Here at Edition·S – music¬sound¬art we are very happy that it is springtime because that means festival time. Next week the Danish festival PULSAR kicks off at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen and we are looking forward to all the exciting performances.

This week has also included some exciting performances! Aventa Ensemble is touring Northern America with Simon Steen-Andersen’s Black Box Music and last night they made a pit stop in New York City.

An audience member wrote after the concert:

Simon is on a roll at the moment! Besides being the recipient of the prestigious art award Berliner Künstpreis, it was just announced that he is also the recipient of the honourable Carl Nielsen Prize! Congrats to Simon!

Last night was a busy night for us with two major concerts on the programme. Ejnar Kanding entered the stage at VEGA with Ensemble Contemporenea, German electronica guru Frank Bretschneider and visual designer Lillevan. A very unique and impressive experience!

The other major performance last night was the {Pliiinggg…} collaboration with Odense Symphony Orchestra at Magazinet in Odense. Christine Canals-Frau and Rudiger Meyer attended the long-awaited concert!

Enjoy the sunny weekend and see you next Friday!

If you’re in Copenhagen please join us at PULSAR where several Edition·S composers are on the programme. For more information please read our related news post!
