It should have been spring… but no, the snow returned and made Copenhagen a cold and dark city again. But here at Edition·S – music¬sound¬art we keep our spirits high! We’re still very excited about all the great news from last week – and perhaps this isn’t the end of it…
This week we celebrated FIGURA Ensemble’s 20th anniversary with a so-called “Festspiele”. The playful and always experimenting ensemble performed in that context Nicolai Worsaae’s work Wesenheit ab Wesenheit based on poems by the German Jörg Meyer on Friday March 15. This was truly a significant evening! Not only did we celebrate the anniversary, but it was also the first time that Nicolai and Jörg actually met each other. It was an evening of colour (as you might can tell from the photo below) and celebrations. Congrats to FIGURA!
Being the last week before Easter, we’ve been busy getting everything done and planning the weeks after the holiday. That includes sending invites out to the official Peter Heise Drot & Marsk reception and concert. It’s the first time ever the opera is being published, so it’s quite a big deal! We look forward to hearing some extracts from the work at The Royal Library on Friday April 5 at 3 pm. Read related post here.
This week we’ve also worked on a brand new feature on our website. Once in a while we collect composers and works that extend across our catalogue and present them in their own way. The composer collaboration {Pliiinggg…} has now got their very own feature with text, photos, interviews and playlist! Check it out here.
When we return from the Easter break it will be the month of April – and that means that it is time for another newsletter! If you haven’t already, sign up here and receive the latest Edition·S news straight to your inbox! All we can reveal now is that next month’s edition is full of colour and new things…
Happy Easter!
