Dear friends, welcome to this weeks edition of Flashback Friday. This week offered some interesting stuff for your ears to enjoy.
Among others Edition·S–music¬sound¬art’ celebrated composer Rune Glerup took part in a radio show. You can listen to it here.
Another highlight of the week was when the Danish Sangselskab performed Ib Nørholms piece Understrømme last Sunday.
Talking about last weekend let us take a flashback at the last days of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Edition·S’ Simon Steen-Andersen’s piece Im Rauschen performed by ensemble recherche received these kind words from Klaus Ib Jørgensen (former CEO of Edition·S):
The English paper The Gaurdian has published a great review of the entire festival with a selection of performances including Simon’s piece String Quartet No 2. Read it here.
Also Simon’s piece Black Box Music harvested a lot of beautiful words and Graham McKenzie described it as “the highlight of the festival”.
(Damn you autocorrect – we are sorry to have misspelled Graham’s surname, but Kat was too excited about his speak to pay attention!).
As November slowly has come to an end Christmas is upon us. And by this follows another merry thing. We bring you our Christmas Calendar “the Composer of Christmas”. You can follow the exciting story about the “the Composer of Christmas” every Friday throughout the month of December.
