Flashback Friday October 5

Welcome back to the weekly Edition·S–music¬sound¬art Flashback Friday. Once again, this week offered some great opportunities for your delight.

It has been a busy week in Paris for two of Edition·S’ composers. Both Simon Steen-Andersen and Rune Glerup had their works performed in the European metropolis.

Let’s begin with Tuesday when Simon’s piece History of my Instrument (2011) was performed at the Goethe Institute by the Ensemble 2e2m. We asked Simon about his thoughts on the collaboration with the ensemble in which he fondly responded:

“I am very much looking forward to the upcoming performances with the ensemble in December and May and our actual collaboration in 13/14 when I will be composer-in-residence.”

This week has certainly been kind to Rune Glerup. With the premiere of his new piece Example of Dust performed by, what is thought of one of the best ensembles in the world, Ensemble Intercontemporain - dust never sounded this appealing.

Also Rune shares his happiness about the premiere:

And on top of this extraordinary breakthrough, Rune is also presenting two works at the Biennale Musica in Venice, Italy next week.
