Jexper Holmen appointed composer-in-residence in Huddersfield 2011-12!

The 39 year old composer was featured at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival hcmf// already in 2010 and delivered a convincing success with the performance of 40 minute long Oort Cloud for soprano saxophone, two accordions and amplification. Jexper Holmen's appearance was covered by the Guardian.

Jexper Holmen and the hcmf// have now agreed to continue their fruitful collaboration on a long-term basis. We are thus proud to announce the engagement of Holmen as official composer-in-residence at the hcmf// for a two year period (2011-12).

As a part of the presentation, Dacapo Records is releasing the new Oort Cloud album, embedding a promotion code for a complimentary download of a high resolution 5.1. surround sound version.

During his residency, Jexper Holmen will be composing new works for the Australian Elision Ensemble, the London Sinfonietta and much more. He will also collaborate closely with acclaimed composer, sound artist and producer Monty Adkins at the University of Huddersfield  electronic music studio in creating new music for the famous multi-channel setup of the studio. A number of projects are in waiting store here for the coming years.

The residency is made possible with substantial support form the Danish Arts Foundation and is backed by SNYK – Centre for Contemporary Music and Edition·S – music¬sound¬art as well.
