Kasper Rofelt premiere at PULSAR 2012

Kasper Rofelt's work Apsaras' Music for percussion solo is premiered on Monday March 19 by Mads Hebsgaard Andersen as part of the PULSAR festival for contemporary music in Copenhagen.

PULSAR is an annual festival that takes place at The Royal Danish Academy of Music and various venues around Copenhagen. This year the festival is celebrating the centenary of one of the 20th century’s most renowned music personalities, John Cage. It is music from the central creative period of the 1940’es and 50’es of this composer and music thinker, which puts the young composers’ music in perspective at this year’s festival: ENCAGED.

PULSAR 2012 runs from Thursday March 15 to Thursday March 22. The festival showcases chamber music, sinfonietta, electronic music and much more, performed by students of the Academy and Copenhagen Phil. The festival is open for everyone and all entries to the concerts are free, except for the Copenhagen Phil concert on Friday March 16.

The festival also presents new works by Simon Løffler and Line Tjørnhøj.
