The composer describes the piece as consisting of two very different movements:
"The first movement begins as a kind of fantasy and has an at times both playful and lyrical character. The music, however, almost seems to become a shadow of itself towards the end, where the long and clear lines disappear in favour of a more sparsely disposed music. If the first movement consists of a lingering music, which may seem mysterious at times, then the second movement is a more energetic movement which is restless from beginning to end, only interrupted by a quieter section in the middle of the movement."
'Dichotomy' is commissioned by Danish Chamber Players and is featured on an upcoming portrait album released by Dacapo Records in 2022.
The concert takes place on Saturday 18 September, 14:30 at KUMUS, Toreby L. At 13:30 the concert will be introduced in a conversation with the composer.
