From August 12 to 19, 2012 Open Days in Ålborg promotes some of the best Danish composers. Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composer Lars Hegaard is amongst those.
Open Days is an annual festival in Ålborg that celebrates contemporary music and sound art with both a local, Danish and international focus. August 18 at 4 pm the Danish pianist Hans Andersen premieres Lars Hegaard’s new work Clouds and Horizons (2012). The piano composition was commissioned by Hans Andersen and consists of six parts with duration of about 16 minutes.
Lars Hegaard got the idea for the concept behind the work back in the year of 2010 and since that he has composed Interior Voices (2011), Vertical Thoughts (2011) and now Clouds and Horizons (2012) – all works that are associated with the same concept. Movement 1, 3 and 5 are connected to the “clouds” material with a harmonic and rhythmic format and is more vertical whereas movement 2, 4 and 6 are connected to the “horizon” material, which is tighter and more horizontal.
Experience it at Open Days Festival in Ålborg, where other works by Edition·S composers such as Ib Nørholm and Indra Rise are performed.
