Mads Emil Dreyer's work Miniature 1 was commissioned by the international ensemble SEIT Quartet and it is composed for four musicians playing glockenspiels and keyboards.
In Miniature 1 the electronic sound is projected through four glockenspiels plaid by the percussionists. They play the glockenspiels with one hand and with the other hand they play the keyboards transmitting sound through actuators mounted on the glockenspiel. The electronic sound consists of sine waves that are a slightly out of tune with the glockenspiels giving the hybrid instruments a distinct, oscillating sound.
