Two chamber works by Morten Olsen will be travelling to Switzerland next week to be performed as part of the Tage für Neue Musik in Zürich, one of central Europe's most prominent festivals for contemporary music.
Here too, in the heart of Switzerland, Danish composers have a rising star. Last year the ambiguous music of Christian Winther Christensen, which was played at the festival, left a lasting impression.
This year Tage für Neue Musik has turned to focus on two recent works for chamber ensemble by Morten Olsen, In a Silent Way from 2007 and Mirages from 2002. The former will be played by Collegium Novum Zürich on November 10 and the latter by Ensemble Laboratorium on November 12.
