About Ejnar Kanding:
Ejnar Kanding (b. 1965) is known for placing his music in new and unique settings, which do not immediately fit into the context of compositional music. During the last decade it has been possible to experience Kanding’s music at very diverse platforms such as the nightclub Rust in 2006, the computer game Hitman in 2007 and in collaboration with composer Frank Bretschneider (Berlin) in 2008.

Kanding originally got his degree in composition and musical theory at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen in 1996, but since his debut concert he has exclusively composed music for computer and instruments. He therefore uses the software MaxMSP as an integrated part of all his works.

Recent performances and projects have taken Kanding’s music all over the world. To mention a few: New York in 2010, Berlin in 2008, 2009 and 2010, China in 2008, Poland 2004 and many others. In addition to that his music has been a part of the International Computer Music Conference several times (2001, 2004 and 2010), the International Society of Contemporary music (2002 and 2008), been performed by prestigious ensembles such as Percurama, CIKADA, Adapter ensemble etc. Apart from all this he stayed at IRCAM in Paris and with Prof. Lev Koblyakov in Jerusalem in the years 1994 and 95.

Kanding is chairman of the electro acoustic platform and concert series EarUnit and artistic leader of the ensemble Contemporánea (flute, bass clarinet, percussion, violin, cello, double bass and MaxMSP).

Kanding has released CDs and DVDs at Dacapo Records.
