New Poul Rovsing Olsen album out now

A new release by Dacapo Records features premiere recordings of works by Poul Rovsing Olsen.

'The Planets – Music for Voice and Instruments' features five works by Poul Rovsing Olsen performed by Anette Slaatto, Jonathan Slaatto, Helge Slaatto, Ulla Miilmann, Signe Asmussen, Christian Martínez and Frederik Munk Larsen.

Included on the album is the work for cello and percussion, 'Renconctres, op. 67' written in 1970, published by Edition·S

The French word rencontres means meetings. In Poul Rovsing Olsen’s composition, it is the cello and percussion that meet. They approach each other, strike up a conversation, collide, and then everything starts to develop. “It is a pre-programmed thunderstorm,” a German reviewer wrote.
