The Danish Radio P2 broadcasts symphony concerts every evening at 7.30 pm and on February 12, 2013 the focus is Simon Steen-Andersen’s Ouvertures.
On January 17, 2013 Aarhus Symphony Orchestra hosted a symphonic concert with works as different as John Adams’ The Chairman Dances, Aaron Copland’s Symphony no. 3 and Simon Steen-Andersen’s Ouvertures. The overall theme of the concert was Chairman Mao and "The Great American Symphony", so the Canadian conductor Julian Kuerti and the Chinese gu-zheng player Liu Le was specially flown in. The concert was a great success and audiences gave standing ovations.
Now the radio programme “The P2 Concert” will broadcast the entire concert. You can listen to it on Tuesday February 12, 2013 at 7.30 pm at P2 or here.
