The album Chambered Music was released by Dacapo Records in 2025 presenting a selection of works by Simon Steen-Andersen recorded by Oslo Sinfonietta.
Chambered Music unveils the roots of Simon Steen-Andersen's bold compositional style. Featuring four early ensemble works, this album probes the fusion of sound, gesture, and energy. Steen-Andersen defies conventional harmony, blending unusual textures, physicality, and ‘chambered’ sounds for a raw, captivating experience. These pieces trace the origins of a composer redefining contemporary music from its very foundations.
The album was also awarded the prestigious Prix de Coup de Cœur 2025 by the French Académie Charles Cros.
