Quatour Diotima plays Rune Glerup

The renowned French string quartet Quatour Diotima will perform Rune Glerup’s “Clarinet Quintet (Still leaning toward this Machine)” when they visit Copenhagen and G((o))ng on Tour on 27 October.

Quatour Diotima premiered Glerup’s electro acoustic piece in 2015 in Paris at the IRCAM Festival ManiFeste and played it again at the Hindsgavl Festival in Denmark. The French clarinet player Rémi Delangle will join the quartet for the Copenhagen performance.

Glerup describes the piece: “The electronics are quite discrete, like a kind of orchestration. You hear it often although you think that you don’t. Like a large chord in an orchestra: you’re not necessarily aware of every single instrument playing. Instead, the sonority comes from the sum of the chosen instruments.”

The concert on 27 October takes place at The Royal Danish Academy of Music at Studiescenen. Read more about the concert and the upcoming G((o))ng Tomorrow festival here.
