It's been an exciting year for Niels Rønsholdt, with the complete version Me Quitte receiving universal acclaim, the virtuoso Jack Quartet giving the first performance of his Americana, continued collaborations around the world as part of his duo Klejs & Rønsholdt, and much more. But, to further this, the composer has just been made a composition teacher at the Royal Academy of Music, Århus/Ålborg.
This new appointment recalls something of a golden period in Danish musical life, where two giants of Danish music, Per Nørgard and Karl Aage Rasmussen, previously shared duties at the Conservatory as Rønsholdt will work alongside fellow Edition·S composer Simon Steen-Andersen to help bring the next generation composers to the fore.
