Sunday April 3 2011 Athelas plays at the spring festival Printemps des Arts in Monte Carlo in Monaco. Printemps des Arts is an international festival that runs over four weekends – this year from March 18 to April 11 2011 – and offers everything from Turkish dancing to Schumann’s chamber music performed by the greatest artists within classical music. The focus of the festival is diversity and dynamic and the events are held all over Monte Carlo including places like the Oceanographic Museum.
At the festival Rune Glerup and Athelas will perform their new work Divertimento for the first time! The piece is inspired by Mozart’s work of the same name and suits the format of a sinfonietta. Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen looks forward to giving the international audience an experience of new Danish music with the original performance of this work.
