Simon Christensen Premiere Tonight

Tonight Simon Christensen premieres his work Caccini Monodies at Villingerød Church in Dronningemølle.

Caccini Monodies is an arrangement of the Italian composer Giulio Caccini’s Le Nuove Musiche from 1602, which is a collection of monodies and songs for solo voice and basso continuo. It was published in Florence in July 1602 and is one of the most significant examples of early baroque music. Christensen’s work is composed for zither and cello and is performed by Simon Christensen himself together with cellist Peter Morrison, who normally performs with the National Symphony Orchestra.

The concert takes place at Villingerød Church tonight, September 3, 2013 at 8 pm.
