Following in the footsteps of a long line of great artists from all over the world, Simon Steen-Andersen has been granted a one-year residence under the DAAD program in Berlin in 2010.
Steen-Andersen’s international career is growing rapidly these years, the prestigious Berlin residency being only one of several important milestones. His In spite of and maybe even therefore… was recently performed in Canada by he Aventa ensemble, during the September Ultima Festival in Oslo, Chambered Music for sinfonietta in programmed, and he's featured composer on this year's Music Harvest Festival in Odense in November. For the moment, Steen-Andersen is preparing several new works, one of the most important being an orchestral commission from the Festival Présences / Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France for a May 2010 Shanghai world premiere.
