The quartet Vierhalbiert presents the concert HYPERMYSTICISM & AUDIOMATTER.
The concert includes two movements by Sophie Meyer; SEED and AIR, performed together with the movement SOIL, an improvised movement created by Vierhalbiert.
SEED, SOIL and AIR are performed alongside Kaija Saariaho’s Aure for violin and cello, as well as Biber’s Rosary Sonatas Nos. 1, 10, and 14.
This Project had it's premiere in March 2024 in Denmark. The Biber sonatas, which are heavily charged with a remote mysticism, and Meyer's evocative music are contrasted with performative collages of absurd poetry and contemporary texts on object theories. In such a way, musical and verbal texts condense in order to encounter us as audio objects and become affective – and somehow mystical – matter. The project was developed by Vierhalbiert in close collaboration with Renate Plieseis.
