Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard's project SOUND X SOUND consists of a series of compositions where one instrument is multiplied over and over again: Music for 9 pianos, 16 triangles, 18 clarinets and so on.
The film SOUND X SOUND is created by Thomas Dyrholm, Anders Morre, Bjarke Underbjerg, Joachim Morre and Søren Kahr, and features a number of works from the series as well as Løkkegaard's thoughts on the project.
Løkkegaard is interested in making sound transcend itself and become a new sound open to all ears. The sound of the individual instrument and the individual musician is dissolved and the sound reappears in a new form.
The film had its first screening during CPH:DOX 2017, and have since been screened at SPOT festival and the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2017 (UK). Now it is available online.
