Premiering at SPOR, this hybrid performance draws inspiration from The Pied Piper of Hamelin, reflecting on mass seduction and society’s fascination with strong leaders. The performance combines film and live music, and the title refers to the proverbial “elephant in the room”.
16 May: Sandra Boss & Ea Borre – Sustained Effort
A collaboration between composer Sandra Boss and visual artist Ea Borre. Together, they have created an accordion that expands in dimensions as the accordion stretches to an unexpected degree. The bellows act as a giant lung, creating a rhythm of breaths while inhaling and exhaling sounds through the instrument. The modified instrument determines a new way of handling and playing, where gravity and time become essential parameters. The unmanageable size defines a choreography of time limited sculptural poses between two persons and an accordion.
