Today the full Suså Festival 2012 programme was made public. Again this year, Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composers are on it. The festival runs from August 31 to September 2, 2012 in Næstved, Denmark.
The Suså Festival is an annual meeting place for serious contemporary music; a “golden meeting” of composers, audiences and players; three intense days featuring seven prominent soloists and ensembles from at home and abroad, a lyrics and music show, and a fascinating meet-the-composer event.
This year the festival will also be presenting Window on France, for which they are flying in the elite Ensemble Alternance from Paris.
This year 25 contemporary composers will be providing a picture of music today: in France via eight works, in Denmark via nineteen works and moreover, several remarkable international composers from Iceland, The Netherlands, Poland, Austria Hungary, Taiwan and Japan - such as Takemitsu, Ligeti et al.
Friday August 31 at 8pm Trio 2+ 1 premieres Li-Ying Wu’s new work as well as performing Thomas Agerfeldt Olesen’s Zwei Zwölfontänze (1996) and Hans-Henrik Nordstrøm’s Nuages élégiagues (2004).
Saturday September 1 at 1.30pm John Ehde performs Tage Nielsen’s Fantasy Piece (1997).
And Sunday September 2 at 11am Messer Kvartetten performs Jexper Holmen’s Intend (2000). Shortly after audiences will have the opportunity to meet the composer hosted by Trine Boje Mortensen.
