Turning point in Iceland

Iceland is hosting the Nordic Music Days 2011 in its capital city Reykjavik on October 6-9. As always the annual festival has challenged the Nordic composers with a specific subject, and this time it is A Turning Point.

Opening on the three years ‘anniversary’ day for the Icelandic financial collapse, the Nordic Music Days nevertheless wants to celebrate this day as a new beginning for a rise in culture and art by gathering the most outstanding contemporary art music from the five Nordic countries and playing it in the newly built concert house Harpa in Reykjavik.

As earlier mentioned Edition·S composers Østen Mikal Ore, Jexper Holmen, Rune Glerup and Simon Steen-Andersen will be played on the festival.
