Two Edition·S Composers Nominated for the Carl Prize

Friday April 19, 2013 the brand new prize, the Carl Prize, will be handed out to the lucky winners. Among the nominees are two Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composers.

The Carl Prize is named after the great composer Carl Nielsen – not to confuse with the Carl Nielsen Prize – and founded by Danish Music Publishers' Association. The prize will be given out to a number of Danish songwriters and composers, who all have contributed to the Danish music life, divided into eleven categories. There are two "classical" categories and Edition·S is represented in both: in the category “Classical Composer – large ensemble/opera” Rune Glerup’s Examples of Dust is one of the nominees and in the category “Classical Composer – chamber orchestra/smaller ensemble/solo works” Simon Steen-Andersen is nominated for Black Box Music.

The eleven categories are:

Composer of pop/rock

The prize ceremony takes place Friday April 19, 2013 at 1 pm at Mogens Dahl’s Concert Hall in Copenhagen where lead singer of Magtens Korridor Johan Olsen and conductor and composer Michael Bojesen will be the hosts.
