VÍDDIR nominated for Icelandic Music Awards

Bára Gísladóttir's VÍDDIR is nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards as 'Album of the year'.

Bára Gísladóttir is nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards with the album release of her work VÍDDIR, an hour-long work composed for nine flutes, percussion trio, bass guitar and double bass.

The world premiere performance of VÍDDIR in 2020 marked the completion of Bára Gísladóttir's studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Following the graduation concert in Copenhagen, the monumental piece has been performed several other places around the world, and in 2022 VÍDDIR was released as a digital album at Dacapo Records in a live recording from the festival Dark Music Days in Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavik.

The recipients of the Icelandic Music Awards will be revealed on 22 March.
