The ongoing collaboration between Edition·S and Copenhagen Phil – 4’33 Phil – continues with the English horn solo piece ‘Fluctuate only’ written by Simon Christensen. The piece will be premiered January 25th and performed again on January 26th.

The idea behind 4’33 Phil is to give the audience an experience of hearing the individual virtuosity and personality of one musician in small up-close musical portraits.

In the score of ‘Fluctuate only’, Simon Christensen writes: “Fluctuate only is dedicated to Birgitte Lindum, the English horn player of the Copenhagen Phil; with her open mind, musical skills, and a desire to discover the instrument from a different angle, we developed the sound material for 'Fluctuate only' together.”

The solo piece is performed as a mini-concert preceding a concert where Copenhagen Phil celebrates Bernsteins would-be 100th birthday.
