Erik Norby studied music at the Royal Academy of Music (theory and composition) with Finn Høffding and Per Nørgård. From 1966 he was a conservatory teacher of music theory and composition at Aalborg Academy of Music. His works include orchestral and chamber music, piano works, songs, and educational music.
