Jens Bjerre

(1903-1986)

Jens Bjerre was an organist and composer. He started his musical career when he was only 15 years old, when he began his musical education at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. He worked as an organist at the Danish Church in Paris while studying there in 1927-29. From 1933 he was an organist in Copenhagen. His works include stage music, chamber music, choral works, and songs. In 1956 he received the Ancker Grant.
