Brilliant reviews for Rønsholdt's opera

The second part of Niels Rønsholdt’s three-year opera saga, Den stærkes ret – Den svages pligt, premiered at the Copenhagen Opera Festival in August and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from both critics and audiences, with all nine performances sold out.

Politiken's reviewer gave the production five hearts, writing, among other things: “With the second part of the trilogy Den stærkes ret – Den svages pligt, composer Niels Rønsholdt and director Louise Beck have created something more intense than ordinary opera.”

Iscene.dk describes the opera as an “acrobatic dance of death that comes so close you almost forget to breathe,” while sceneblog.dk calls it a “wonderfully accomplished music-theatre production.”

Cphculture.dk highlights, among other things, “the hypnotically beautiful music.”, and Operamagasinet Ascolta concludes: “We give Den Stærkes Ret – Den Svages Pligt six stars and now have a year to look forward to the next instalment in Sagnlandet Lejre.”
