Christian Winther Christensen receives Schierbeck award

Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composer Christian Winther Christensen received the prestigious award from Poul and Sylvia Schierbeck tonight at the reception after the performance of Schierbeck’s only opera Fête Galante.

The Schierbeck award is given to musicians, conductors and composers who contribute to sharing Poul Schierbeck’s music and support music theoretical works about Schierbeck.

This year, the lucky receiver is Christian Winther Christensen, who was awarded 35.000 kr.

Poul Schierbeck (1888-1949) was also an Edition·S – music¬sound¬art composer, who studied with Carl Nielsen, taught at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and played the organ at Skovshoved Church.
