The Stockholm-based contemporary music ensemble, Curious Chamber Players, tours Japan 12-15 December with an all Swedish/Japanese concert programme.
The programme includes Ylva Lund Bergner's 'Achenar' written for violin, Paetzold flute and object player. The piece will receive its Japanese premiere in Tokyo 12 December.
Lund Bergner was awarded the Swedish chamber music prize Järnåkerstipendiet 2017 for this piece, which the jury described as: "A unique sound world that is capable of lyricism and instrumental invention, a composition that reveals substance through its very materiality as it unfolds in time."
The tour is planned on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Sweden established in 1868, and brings the ensemble to Tokyo, Nagoya and Nagakute.
