Educate·S is the result of a wish to build further on the historical tradition in which contemporary composers have written music with the aim of increasing awareness and introducing music pupils to new musical experiences. In their own times, Bach, Brahms, and Bartók each composed music in which pedagogical considerations and artistic ambitions formed a harmonious whole for the delight of children and young people as they develop their musical skills.
We wish to continue this important tradition and have therefore asked leading Danish composers to write new pieces for this collection. The Educate·S series presents pupils with music that touches on the musical horizons and sound worlds to which contemporary composers make their contribution.
Pieces for Recorder and Pieces for Viola are edited by recorder soloist Michala Petri, viola player and instructor at The Danish Suzuki Institute Turi Vethal and Østen Mikael Ore, composer and instructor at Kolding Music School.
The two new publications include compositions by Fuzzy, Ejnar Kanding, Eva Noer Kondrup, Morten Ladehoff, Mette Nielsen, Svend Hvidtfelt Nielsen, Morten Olsen, Pernille Louise Sejlund, Line Tjørnhøj and Nicolai Worsaae.
The series now comprises pieces for piano, violin, percussion, guitar, cello, accordion, viola and recorder.
