New music from the Nordic countries will be performed north of the Arctic Circle, when Nordic Music Days takes place in Bodø, Norway 13-17 November 2019.
The theme of the festival this year is Truth? and invites you to reflect on a number of questions: Can music be “true”? Which repertoire becomes canon, and which processes, structures, and coincidences inform the historiography? Can we correct the skewed judgements that have already been made? Is music, often wordless, freer than other art forms? Is “reality” an antonym to art and artifice? Does everyone own their own truth?
