Peter Bruun

(1968-)

Peter Bruun is a rock musician gone composer. In secondary school Bruun composed and performed rock music, but changed direction and studied composition and theory privately with Niels Marthinsen at Århus University from 1989 to 1991. Meanwhile he also studied philosophy at Århus University. He got his degree in composition and music theory from the Royal Academy of Music in Århus in 1997 after studying with Per Nørgaard and Karl-Aage Rasmussen amongst others. Bruun is active in organisational and music political work. He is also a member of FIGURA Ensemble. In 2008 he received the Nordic Music Prize.
